Hue Royal Antiquities Museum

Hue Royal Antiquities Museum is one of the most attractive museums in Vietnam. We can see an overview of Hue’s royal life in the past. The museum is in a nicely maintained building constructed over a century ago. Definitely worth a visit for you.

Hue Royal Antiquities Museum is located at No. 3, Le Truc St., Hue City. It’s in Long An Palace, inside the Citadel, which is a beautifully complicated, built structure of wood with 128 columns.

The decoration is extremely artistic and elegant. Artifacts in the museum were collected and stored from 1913 to the present. The number of artifacts is about 10,000 units, mostly royal furniture, royal daily implements, imperial furniture, artwork in the palace … made by many kinds of materials like gold, silver, jade, bronze, ivory, glass, fabric, paper, …

Also, the Hue Royal Antiquities Museum has stored thousands of locally produced artifacts, gifts from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of other countries..

The Hell Cave

Visit Danang, the city of central Vietnam, and you can’t miss the Marble Mountains. They are located south of Danang, on Lac Long Quan st, along My Khe beach. Marble Mountains are a cluster of five mountains, made out of limestone and marble. It’s filled with caves, temples, tunnels, and peaks built into the slippery rock. One famous cave of those is The Hell Cave (Dong Am Phu). And we will visit it today.

All you need to prepare is a shoes for climbing, and a backpack containing mineral water and food (if you visit all the mountains in Marble Mountains, The Hell Cave is 1 of the 5 mountains). You can get there easily by taxi, motorbike, or private car. Open hours are 08:00AM and close at 05:00PM. The price of a ticket only The Hell Cave is 15.000 VND~0.8 USD. (Marble Mountains is also 0,8 USD too).

Before the entrance gate, the local people who live around the Marble Mountains (Non Nuoc Village) are famed for their delicate carvings. The sculptures they sell are usually of many sizes. You will be impressed by many big stone carvings, but if you just want to find some souvenirs or something for yourself, here. The price of a bracelet is about 20.000 VND ~30.000 VND.

The Hell Cave is located in Thuy Mountain (Water) – The largest and most beautiful mountain for tourists visiting and sightseeing. In Buddhism, whoever has died will be reincarnated. After crossing in Nai Ha Bridge (The bridge over the hell river), you will come into the ultra-mysterious and murky caves. Have two ways, one for heaven and another for hell.

Hell has many nooks and hallways that go deeply into the layers, symbolizing for levels of hell called “the hell door”. At each door, you will see the reliefs, statues of ghosts with many different penalties, such as Phan Quy palace, Ming Vuong palace, Avici Hell, Giai Oan springs… Surely, you will get scared in here.

But after coming to “the hell”, you will see the way to heaven. It’s the long stairs to the sky. To reach heaven, you need to pass through the highway, slippery and a little dangerous (I think it’s not for the children). And you also see many fairies on the way. The first impression is the sunshine after dark ways. It’s so beautiful. On the peak – the heaven, you will see the Buddhas, the statues of fairies, the Jade Emperor, etc. Also, you can get an overview of Danang City and the East Sea.

One day in Cuchi Tunnels

One interesting destination in Southern Vietnam is Cuchi Tunnels. It’s located near Saigon ( from Saigon Central is 70km). Here, you will come back to Vietnam in the 19th century, in wartime. You will see many weapons, bases, underground complex tunnels, and get some feel of soldiers. All is great experiences that you should do.

First of all, I advise that you should visit Cao Dai Holy See, stop in Vam Co Dong River, and feel the quiet air of a Vietnamese village. If you can, you also should visit Cu Chi Wild Life Rescue Station, where like an animal hospital.

Cuchi Tunnels are about 200 km long tunnels and ventilation systems. The price to visit here is about $5 USD. The tunnels are dug deep underground with multiple levels and routes. It includes the clinic, many rooms, a kitchen, a storage, an office, underground subway system. It led to a river or another escape.

And you also see many sorts of traps. It’s different types and were made for the American soldiers who were on foot. One of those is a sharp bamboo trap. It’s a hidden dug-out pit with sharp bamboo sticks sticking up out of the ground. Another is a gate trap, sharp will fall sharply if you open the door. And if you come here with children, don’t forget to take care of them because it’s so dangerous.

In the gun area, it has many old guns that were used in wartime. You can play a shooting game in here for about 2,5 USD/60 min, 3000vnd/bullet. Have two gun types is AK and M16. This service is the most favorite in here.

It also has an area simulating the East Sea, and you take a shower after an exploration trip. The price is $1usd/pax. Crazy House in Dalat

Dalat is one of the most famous destinations in Vietnam. It’s not only famous for the beauty of nature sceneries (Lang Biang, Love Valley, Prenn waterfall, pine forest, tea hill, Dakia Lake, etc) but also by many special structures ( Bao Dai Palace, Chicken Church, Dalat station, Dalat pedagogical colleges, etc). One of those sightseeing have Crazy House – Hang Nga House. My friend said, “It’s one of the most odd things I’ve seen”. And I swear you’re also convinced by it.

Crazy House is in the Central Highlands’ city of Dalat, one of the top three strangest hotels in the world, and was designed by Vietnamese architect Dang Viet Nga. She says: “I want to change the vision about architecture. I want to design in a different view, strange and abundant”. And this house is an appearance. As in the fairy tale, this hotel is like an enormous Banyan tree with uneven windows and tunnel-shaped stairways.

The design is so bizarre that you can’t find it anywhere in the world. The hollow “tree” extends in many directions, rising above to reach the sky of the amazing Dalat. Stairs and hallways throughout Crazy House are designed to resemble tunnels and caves, which makes for an interesting walk through the house. See the norm, wild mushrooms and spider webs popping up on your way is very normal.

Besides, the house is really a great destination to stay with many rooms named after animals, such as the tiger room, the eagle room, the ant room, the kangaroo room, the bear room, the honey honeymoon room, etc. The decorations and handcrafted furniture also match the theme.

Monkey Island in Nhatrang

One of most interesting things in Nhatrang city is Monkey Island. Why? Let’s explore it with me!

From Central Nhatrang City to Long Phu Port, where you can catch a boat and go to Monkey Island, is about 28 km. This island is located on Hon Lao Island, Nha Phu Bay. If you are self-driving, you just drive straight on 1A Boulevard Northern, cross at Ru Ri Pass, and you will see the board “Nha Phu Bay”. You need to buy the boat ticket (about $5.5 USD per person for arriving on this island and coming back). After 15 minutes, you arrive at Monkey Island.

The first impression is the wild island, and so amazing. This island contains more than 1200 monkeys, which are two types: Macaca Rhérus and Macaca Fassicularit (I just read it on the catalogs and I don’t know what these types are). But these monkeys are so cute. They’re playful, naughty, and friendly too. You can buy bananas and feed them.

This island has a dog racing. Here, you can bet about $1.6 USD once a time. And if you’re lucky, you will win with the ostrich eggs that are carved, which look so beautiful. You can visit some sceneries such as: Mermaid Lake, Tamda garden, 12 Animals Park, etc. And you can see a monkey circus. These monkeys are very talented. They can ride a unicycle, a bike, a cyclo, and an acrobatic.

Monkey Island also has many different services, such as snorkeling, swimming, parachuting, ostrich riding, elephant riding, etc. I believe you will be convinced by the beauty of the coral reef and marine life. The clear seawater will make you feel like immersed in the sea. The price is about $7 USD for each snorkel.

Besides that, it’s so awesome when you ride an ostrich for just $2.5 USD. All gives you amazing experiences.
