One interesting destination in Southern Vietnam is Cuchi Tunnels. It’s located near Saigon ( from Saigon Central is 70km). Here, you will come back to Vietnam in the 19th century, in wartime. You will see many weapons, bases, underground complex tunnels, and get some feel of soldiers. All is great experiences that you should do.
First of all, I advise that you should visit Cao Dai Holy See, stop in Vam Co Dong River, and feel the quiet air of a Vietnamese village. If you can, you also should visit Cu Chi Wild Life Rescue Station, where like an animal hospital.
Cuchi Tunnels are about 200 km long tunnels and ventilation systems. The price to visit here is about $5 USD. The tunnels are dug deep underground with multiple levels and routes. It includes the clinic, many rooms, a kitchen, a storage, an office, underground subway system. It led to a river or another escape.
And you also see many sorts of traps. It’s different types and were made for the American soldiers who were on foot. One of those is a sharp bamboo trap. It’s a hidden dug-out pit with sharp bamboo sticks sticking up out of the ground. Another is a gate trap, sharp will fall sharply if you open the door. And if you come here with children, don’t forget to take care of them because it’s so dangerous.
In the gun area, it has many old guns that were used in wartime. You can play a shooting game in here for about 2,5 USD/60 min, 3000vnd/bullet. Have two gun types is AK and M16. This service is the most favorite in here.
It also has an area simulating the East Sea, and you take a shower after an exploration trip. The price is $1usd/pax. Finally, surely you will feel hungry, let’s enjoy cassava boiled with salt and peas, a popular food here. And take some fresh fruits from the Trung An garden. This is a great destination.
